Tanya Farrar is ... and has been for nine years. Before that, she was a beauty therapist.
"I was working as a beauty therapist up until nine years ago and then I became a Brazilian waxer," she says. "I worked for someone else for two years and then I started my own business."I've got two stores and I have 16franchises across Victoria."We wax the pubic areas of men and women and we also do shapes and colours in that area."We won't wax anybody under 16 without their parents' permission, and our oldest clients - a man and a woman - were in theirearly 70s ... they had a Brazilian each."Most of our customers are female - say about 80%. Smaller numbers of males have been coming in since we got started but they are on the increase."It's a long working week. Ashorter working day for me would be about eight hours; a longer day would be about 12 hours ... and we work six days a week. I get Sundays off and as I'm a mum of three I spend most of it with the kids."If I was ever going to do anything else it would be nursing, but I don't have time to do anything else."The company is working very successfully; it's a very good business." -- DAVID WILSONDAVID WILSON
